One of the first guests at Dom Lardy was Muriel Rousseau- Ovtchinnikov - a French artist, great granddaughter of philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, author of many restaurant concepts including Carre Blanc, Jean-Jacques café chain, Volkonsky, Drawing Club, LOLA, Leonov-Rousseau gourmet catering, organizer and mastermind of the Davai Davai project.
A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Murielle combines images of Russian and French everyday life in her works. She strives to capture the momentary, to capture the mood of the moment, to capture the mood of today and reflect the result in acrylic miniatures on canvases. Some of the work is then transformed into bags, mackintoshes, hoodies, waistcoats or blouses.
Muriel spent three days in Dom Lardy last autumn. She walked a lot in the surrounding fields, visited Rostov the Great and appreciated every dish of the French-Russian village menu of Dom Lardy, especially the delicious cabbage pies by our favourite chef Tatiana and promised to come back for sure.
In memory of her stay, Murielle created a limited collection of bags, purses and mackintoshes with views of our picturesque surroundings. Each of our guests will have the opportunity to own an item from the legendary Muriel Rousseau- Ovtchinnikov.
